The Lagos State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) held a day refresher training/workshop for journalists, reporters, and correspondents as part of plans to ensure proper information management, reporting COVID-19 related issues, and enhance effective implementation of the Risk Communication Plans in tandem with the overall COVID-19 Response campaign.
According to one of the guest speakers, Dr. Finnih who disclosed that the training/workshop was targeted at the media to further help in the propagation of the campaign on the coping mechanism, education on how to protect oneself and the family, information management, motivation for self-efficacy, and confidence-building which will go a long way in checkmating the spreading and thereafter reduce the negative effects of the virus to a bearest minimum.
However, the representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and one of the speakers, Dr. Chima thanked the Lagos state government and the participants for their unflinching supports at every stage while urging the media to further give the campaign the best shot it deserves.
