Chef Adama visits Makoko, donates clothing and food items to pupils and vulnerable

As a way of putting smiles on the faces of school children and vulnerable in Makoko, a coastal area in Yaba local government area of in Lagos, a young, charitable lady and the founder of Chef Adama and Friend Charity Fair, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Adaobi Blessing Njorteah popularly known as Chef Adama has donated clothing and food items to school children and vulnerable in the area which will go a long way in cushion the effects of poverty and as well give them a new lease of life.

According to Chef Adama who spoke with Somolu Newspaper said she was not comfortable with what she saw about the densely populated Makoko community on the internet and made up her mind to ensure she put up a project as a way of contributing her own quota to the wellbeing of the people especially the school children and the vulnerable.

The Industrial Production expert stated further that even if she cannot reach out for all of them but few of those who benefitted from her little contribution is a sign that she has empathy for them and will always look for a way to better their lot.

“Most of the time when I go online to check out what’s going on there, It’s unbelievable to know that Makoko doesn’t have good pipe-borne water and some other basic things of life like every other community around. The way they eat and the water they drink is quite disturbing and I felt I should reach out to them with the little I have with help of some of my friends”. She noted

Meanwhile, the event was carried out with COVID-19 precautionary measures in place by observing physical distancing, using the nose mask and hand gloves as well as washing of hands with soap to keep the dreaded virus at bay.

The elated Chef Adama who was so delighted with the way her team was received said she has decided to hold the event twice a year while the second phase will come in the last quarter of the year.

She, however, poured encomium on her friends, family especially her parents for their unflinching supports she enjoyed before and during the cause of executing the project while calling on government and corporate individuals to contribute their quota in their own little way to the good cause.
