Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has deployed operatives and patrol vehicles to borderlines and inter-state routes, to enforce the new transport guidelines of the state government, as a measure against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
A release signed by the TRACE Corps Commander and the Chief Executive Officer, Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi, indicated that the deployment was in collaboration with other sister agencies, to ensure strict compliance by the people.
The release further instructed all area Commanders, Division Commanders and Unit Commanders to commence execution of strategic enforcement plan as directed by the government.
The restricted routes and borderlines include Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the old Lagos-Sango, Ifo/Abeokuta expressway, Interchange-Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode/Benin-Ore expressway and Abeokuta-Odeda-Ibadan highway.
Others are Atan-Lusada-Agbara-Badagry highway, Papalanto-Owode-Idiroko highway, Ijebu-Ode Agbowa-Ikorodu highway, Ijebu-Ife-Ilese-Ijebu-Ode -Oru and Roundabout-Abeokuta-Olorunda-Ayetoro-Imeko-Ilara border.
The general public was therefore warned to adhere strictly to the curfew imposed by the Federal Government from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am daily across the federation, as any offender caught during this restriction order would be prosecuted and vehicles impounded would not be released until the expiration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
