Somolu LG commence contruction of new roads

The Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government had commenced construction of another set of four roads n Somolu to ease traffic congestion, create alternative routes and broaden the road network in the area.

The four roads, according to the community report made available to pressmen by Oseni Owolabi (Chief Press Secretary), are Okujobi, Ajose, Efonalaye and Olasode streets. He further stated that the roads will ease the hardship of motorist plying Bajulaiye road, Market street and other major roads in Somolu.

According to Alhaji Kabir Raji (Supervisor for Works & Infrastructure), the 115 Meters Okujobi street will ease traffic for motorist trying to link Fakorode, Araromi, Okesuna from Bajulaiye road. He also stated that Olasode, Ajose and Efonalaye will complement the just completed network of roads around Orile-Somolu including Fadipe, Salami, Eyiowuawi, Odubanjo streets.

However, the Mayor charged the contractors to deliver a high standard construction job which will stand the test of time in terms of durability and presentation.

Moreover, the Somolu Local Government Helmsman urge the residents of Somolu to cooperate with contractors as they will have to move out vehicles to enable excavator and other types of equipment to work on the construction sites.

Recall that Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government just completed Ogunnaike, Babayemi and Adedoyin streets. The Mayor has promised to build more roads for the benefit of the people of Somolu.

The multiple awards winning Mayor said his political achievements can be traced to what he learnt from the National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who hold community development to high esteem since he was the Governor of Lagos State.
