…praises religious leaders
The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, earlier today presented two 18-Seater buses to the two major religious communities in Somolu to further propagate their religions and religious organizations they are coordinating.
The buses were presented to the representatives of Somolu Muslim Community (SMC) and Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN) as the Muslims were led to the secretariat by Chief Imam Abdul-Rafee Adanijo (Chief Imam of Somolu Central Mosque) who was represented by Sheikh Issa Adeyinka (Alfa Agba of Somolu Muslim Community) and Alhaji Yinus Rohimolahu (Chairman of Somolu Muslim Community), the CAN was led by Apostle Israel Gabriel (CAN Coordinator, Somolu) and his executive members of the association.
While presenting the buses at the Somolu Local Government Secretariat on Durosimi street, the Mayor said religion is an important factor in community and political developments as Nigerian politicians will always belong to one religion or the other, especially while growing up.
The Mayor makes it known that the bus is part of the government responsibilities to the people as both Muslim and Christian communities are usually helpful to the government in areas of disseminating information about government policies to the people, especially health and tax-related information. The multiple Hajj pilgrim, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu urged the religious leaders to keep the good work more activated.
However, Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe (Immediate Past Executive Chairman of Somolu LG), Hon. Abiodun Orekoya (Immediate Past Executive Secretary of Somolu LG), Alhaji Osiyemi (APC Apex Leader of Somolu), Apostle Peter Oyewusi (APC Apex Leader), Chief Sikiru Asenuga (APC Apex Leader), Alhaji Bakare (APC Apex Leader), Pastor Ademola Olisa-Adefalujo (APC Apex Leader), Hon. Femi Taiwo (APC Chairman, Somolu), Mr. Lai Giwa (Council-Manager), Hon. Adewale Oseni (Supervisory Councilor for Agric & Community Service) also join the religious chiefs as the Executive Chairman presented the multimillion Naira buses to the religious communities.
