The leader of Lagos East Senatorial District and Governor Advisory Council (GAC) member, Distinguished Senator Anthony Adefuye; the President of ALGON, Alabi Kolade David; Somolu Council helmsman, AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, Ikosi-Isheri Mayoress; Princess Samiat Bada, Access Bank, Aqualeilei, Equal Right Restaurants and Managing Director of the Vicmond Ade Enterprises, High Chief Dr. Mrs. Modupe Oluwole have won the Year 2021 Somolu Newspaper Leadership Awards.
The announcement was made recently in Lagos by the Chairman of the selection committee, Mr. Tosin Osinowo on behalf of the members of the board of Badallion Communications, the organizer of the prestigious event.
Senator Anthony Adefuye was honoured with the ‘2021 Citizen of the Year Award’ in recognition of his strong commitment and contribution to the growth and development of the Somolu community politically and economic wise. Alabi Kolade David (Barr.) was honoured with the ‘Somolu Personality of the Year’ while the Somolu council helmsman, AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ won (Somolu Best Chairman of the Year).
Meanwhile, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA; Princess Samiat Bolanle Bada, Mrs. Atinuke Olowo, and the Managing Director of Vicmond Ade Enterprises, Dr. Mrs. Modupe Oluwole were honoured with the ‘Amazon Woman of the Year’, and ‘Somolu Woman of the Year’ respectively.
Others are Equal Right Restaurant which was awarded the ‘2021 Best Restaurant of the Year’, ‘Access Bank Plc won 2021 Community Bank of the Year’, Aqualeilei Ventures won ‘2021 Best Water Manufacturing Company of the Year’, Jide Omotayo and Funke Oshonaike won the ‘Sports Person of the Year and ‘Sports Amazon of the Year’ while CSP Moses Urule was honoured with the ‘Distinguished Super Cop Award’.
The Somolu Newspaper Leadership Award scheme started in 2013 and has evolved to become one of Nigeria’s most respected community award schemes.
