The Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, in a show of appreciation on Wednesday, 19th November 2025, joined the Somolu Council Leadership to honour the exemplary leadership of the outgone Head of Department (HOD) of Education and Library Services, Alhaja Mrs Medinat Odubote, whom he described as a dedicated, hardworking, and reliable figure.
The presentation of a special Award and further gifts featured the presence of the Vice Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Ojomu; the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Tunde James Oyeyiola, the Council Manager, Mr Abiodun Babington; Somolu LGEA E-S, Hon. Dare Martins, the Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman, Prince Sodiq Adeeso, the Human Resources Officer, Mr Oyefolu Muftau, New HOD, Mrs Giwa, School Teachers’ Representatives, and other LG Workers, who also extended their appreciation for her essential leadership during her pivotal tenure.
Afterwards, the Council Chairman also welcomed to his office the Committee of Friends from the Aluminium Fabricators in Somolu LGA, led by Mr Taofeek Oladapo Mudathir. The LG Administration was showered with accolades for the visible and transformative approach towards making its 100-day mark a resounding success, with so much to offer.
