Facebook closes down its London offices after an employee was diagnosed with coronavirus

Social media giants, Facebook is closing its offices in London until Monday after a visiting employee from Singapore was diagnosed with coronavirus.

The unnamed employee who is based in Singapore visited Facebook’s London offices between February 24-26 and was later diagnosed with COVID-19.

While other employees have been told to work from home through the weekend, the firm also advised anyone who came into contact with the affected employee to self-isolate and monitors themselves for any symptoms of the novel coronavirus.

“An employee based in our Singapore office who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 visited our London offices February 24-26, 2020,” Facebook said in a statement.

“We are therefore closing our London offices until Monday for deep cleaning and employees are working from home until then.”
