Popular Lagos Pastor visits market, laments over high cost of food commodities

The General Overseer of Sanctuary of Nation Assembly, Pastor Dr. Biodun Adeneye-Marcus has expressed his displeasure over the high cost of food commodities in the country.

According to the man of God who shared his view on his social media platform said he had to step out of the vineyard and visit a nearby market following his wife’s lamination over the sharp increase in prices of foodstuff and was shocked to his marrow at what he met at the marketplace.

“Following the lamentations of my wife, Pastor Oluwagbemisola Adeneye-Marcus over the unbearable costs of substances for the preparation of food, I volunteered myself, went to the market, go after tomatoes, pepper, meat, fish, Ponmo, Palm oil, Rice, Semovita, Garri, this morning”.

“Ha! I shouted the loudest of my voice, at the vendors of these products. My voice attracted other men who must have become, ‘oju mi t’ole, oju mi t’ode’ observers like me. One of them had to say, ‘No wonder, the stew for my Semovita was drastically reduced in size”.

He went further, ‘abi kii se emi, nse ni ma mold Semovita mi, ma wa fi atampako da iho si laarin, ki obe le wo inu e daada’ demonstrating, ‘me, I will mold my Semovita and use my right thumb to create a sizable hole in it to allow the Semovita to swallow the soup before I start to dismantle it”.

“Laughter rented the air as the scene grew large. One old woman in our midst said, ‘o su awa naa ooo, olomo keekeke ni o mo ibi ti Naija ba won de bayi” meaning, those who have kids wouldn’t understand the calamity that has befallen them and the nation, Naija’.

“In fact, what my eyes saw today cannot be fully reported as I became omo jeje on my return to the house with, ‘eku ile o’ and with the warm reply, ‘se e ba ode pade ni ibiti Naija wa won de bayi”.

The author of many educational books said he had to thank his wife when he returned home ‘E seun’, and silently went to the bathroom, and showered.

He, however, advocated for purposeful-driven economic policies that’ll put Nigeria back on the right track to economic stability and not the ones that will plunge the most populous black nation into a dark abyss.
