One-Year Anniversary: Dullar, Anifowoshe, Omotanwa Salau, SA WAPA, others congratulate Hon. Lateef Ashimi

Eminent political leaders, party faithful, community stakeholders and residents have felicitated with the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, as he marks his first year in office, applauding what they described as a year of visionary leadership, impactful governance and remarkable developmental strides.

Leading the congratulatory messages was the former Chairman of Somolu Local Government and House of Representatives aspirant, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu, ‘Dullar’, who commended Ashimi for his unwavering commitment to the growth and transformation of Somolu.

Dullar described the council chairman’s first year in office as one characterised by purposeful leadership, transparency and dedication to the welfare of the people.

According to him, Ashimi has demonstrated that responsive grassroots governance remains the foundation of sustainable development. He noted that the chairman’s investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, environmental sanitation, youth empowerment and social welfare programmes have positively impacted thousands of residents across the local government.

Also congratulating the council boss, respected political leader, and the CEO of Anisfield Nigeria Ltd, Hon. Akeem Anifowoshe lauded Ashimi for fostering peace, unity and inclusiveness in governance. He said the chairman has continued to carry every part of the community along through people-oriented policies and developmental initiatives aimed at improving the standard of living of residents.

Former Chairperson of the council, Hon. Mrs Mariam Omotanwa Salau, praised Ashimi for his unwavering support for women, children and vulnerable members of society. She described him as a compassionate and progressive leader whose administration has continued to prioritise human capital development and community welfare.

She further commended the chairman for creating opportunities for women and youths through empowerment programmes and capacity-building initiatives, expressing confidence that the administration would accomplish even greater milestones in the years ahead.

The Special Adviser on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Mrs Maryam Owolabi-Bada, also joined other well-wishers in celebrating the chairman, describing his first year in office as a period marked by responsive governance, accountability and inclusive leadership.

According to Bada, Hon. Ashimi has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the lives of residents through impactful programmes in education, healthcare, economic empowerment and infrastructural renewal.

Several political associates, community development associations, market leaders, youth organisations, religious groups and residents also congratulated the council chairman on the milestone, acknowledging his dedication to delivering the dividends of democracy at the grassroots.

The well-wishers expressed appreciation for the various developmental projects and social intervention programmes executed within the past year, noting that the achievements recorded by the administration have further strengthened public confidence in local governance.

They prayed for God’s continued wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance for Hon. Ashimi as he begins another year in office, urging him to sustain the momentum of development and continue implementing policies that will further enhance the socio-economic advancement of Somolu Local Government.

The first anniversary celebration provided an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to reflect on the administration’s accomplishments over the past twelve months while reaffirming their support for the council chairman’s vision of building a more prosperous, peaceful and progressive Somolu.
