Megaxpression Publisher loses mother at 103

The publisher of Megaxpression Newspaper and renowned political figure in Lagos State, Hon. Shakiru Seidu, has been thrown into mourning following the demise of his beloved mother, Elder Shefinat Serah Adunni Seidu, who passed away at the remarkable age of 103.

The matriarch, described by family members and associates as a woman of immense wisdom, integrity, and unwavering faith, reportedly joined her ancestors after a fulfilled life dedicated to family, community service, and the nurturing of generations of children and grandchildren.

News of her passing has elicited an outpouring of condolences from political leaders, media practitioners, community stakeholders, religious leaders, and well-wishers across Lagos and beyond, many of whom have described her death as the loss of a great mother and pillar of support.

Hon. Shakiru Seidu, the Super for Media and Publicity, Igbogbo Baiyeku, who is widely respected in media and political circles, was said to have shared a close bond with his late mother, often referring to her as his confidant, mentor, and source of inspiration throughout his personal and professional journey.

Family sources disclosed that Elder Shefinat Serah Adunni Seidu lived a life characterised by humility, compassion, and dedication to the values of hard work and discipline. Her influence, they noted, extended beyond her immediate family, as she remained a source of guidance and encouragement to many within her community.

Friends and associates of the bereaved publisher have continued to visit the family residence to sympathise with Hon. Seidu and other members of the family. Several condolence messages have also flooded social media platforms, with many celebrating the deceased’s long, impactful, and exemplary life.

Speaking on the loss, the President of Community Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (COMPASS), Tayo Aderinola, described the late centenarian as a rare gem whose longevity and contributions to humanity would remain a source of inspiration to younger generations.

Although her passing has left a vacuum in the family, relatives expressed gratitude to God for granting her a long and fruitful life spanning over a century.

Funeral arrangements, according to family sources, will be announced in due course.
