The immediate past Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. AbdulHameed Salawu, popularly known as ‘Dullar’, alongside former council boss, Hon. Omogbolahan Bagostowe, and prominent political figure and businesswoman, Hon. Mrs Mariam Omotanwa Salau, have expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mrs. Muinat Adebimpe Oduyeru.
In a jointly conveyed message of condolence, the leaders extended their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased, describing her death as a painful and significant loss not only to her immediate family but also to the wider Somolu community.
They also commiserated with residents of Ijebutedo in Ward C, as well as the entire people of Somolu, noting that the late Mrs Oduyeru was a respected figure whose life was marked by kindness, strength, and a deep sense of community service.
According to the statement, her departure has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, as many who came in contact with her benefitted from her compassion and positive influence.
“Mrs Oduyeru’s passing is indeed a painful one. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her and experienced her warmth and contributions to the community,” the statement read.
Until her demise, she was a great mobiliser and not only contributed her quota to the growth and development of her community, but also to both ‘Dullar’ and LA Ladies, whose contributions to party activities through their musical rendition cannot be overemphasised.
The trio offered prayers for the repose of her soul, asking Almighty God to grant her eternal rest and provide the bereaved family, friends, and the Ijebutedo community with the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
