According to Mr Oseni, the visit to the council headquarters is part of a scheduled Activities Review. The exercise is expected to audit procurement processes, ensuring strict adherence to the Lagos State Public Procurement Law and optimising the delivery of public goods and services within the local government area.
The review session involved an in-depth dialogue with the council’s leadership and senior civil servants. During the proceedings, Chairman Ashimi expressed his gratitude to the PPA for its professional oversight. He stated that such reviews are vital for maintaining transparency and ensuring that the council’s operations remain aligned with international best practices.
“Our commitment to the people of Somolu is rooted in accountability. By collaborating with the PPA, we are ensuring that every project undertaken is executed with the highest standards of integrity and value for money,” he added.
Joining the Chairman were Hon. Taiwo Ojomu (Vice Chairman), Mr Abiodun Peters Babington (Council Manager), Mr Abayomi Odusanya (Council Treasurer), and Mr Olusegun Olabode (Procurement Officer).
Additionally, the PPA delegates commended the Somolu leadership for its cooperation and the systematic organisation of its procurement records, noting that the council’s proactive approach sets a positive benchmark for local governance in the state.
