Speaking with Somolu Newspaper at his residence on Saturday, Chief Teluwo expressed profound pride in his son’s achievement, noting that the appointment reflects years of dedication, discipline, and passion for sports development.
According to the respected businessman, Biodun’s emergence as chairman did not come by chance but through commitment to excellence and a clear understanding of leadership and service. He said the new role is a responsibility that requires vision, humility, and hard work, qualities he believes his son possesses in abundance.
“I am proud of him. This appointment is a recognition of his capacity and love for sports. Leadership in sports administration is about service, integrity, and development, and I am confident that Biodun will justify the trust reposed in him. I was privileged to discover talents in football and later founded Obanta Football Club, which later became VIP Football Club. I’m confident he’ll pick up from where I left and keep up with the sports dynasty intact”. Chief Teluwo stated.
Chief Teluwo, who himself has a rich background in sports administration as a former football club chairman, advised his son to remain focused and committed to grassroots development, stressing that sports remain a powerful tool for youth empowerment and social cohesion.
He further called on stakeholders, athletes, and sports enthusiasts to give the new chairman the needed support to enable him succeed in repositioning triathlon in Lagos State and taking the sport to greater heights.
The appointment of Hon. Biodun Teluwo has continued to attract goodwill messages from sports stakeholders and members of the public, many of whom see his emergence as a boost for the growth and visibility of triathlon sports in the state.
With the backing of experienced mentors and stakeholders, expectations are high that the Lagos State Triathlon Association will see renewed vigour, improved organisation, and sustained development under his leadership.
