Ashimi made the call during a series of ward-level engagements and meetings held across Somolu Local Government Area, where party leaders, executives, youth groups, women leaders and stakeholders converged to deliberate on the importance of the new digital registration process.
According to the council chairman, the e-party registration initiative is designed to modernise the party’s membership database, enhance transparency, and ensure that genuine members are duly captured ahead of future party activities and elections.
He continued, “This e-registration is not just a formality; it is about ownership, inclusion and positioning our members for opportunities within the party. I urge every APC member in Somolu to take this exercise seriously and ensure they are properly registered”. Ashimi said.
He emphasised that the exercise would help the party identify its true strength at the grassroots level, while also making it easier for members to access party benefits, participate in primaries and contribute meaningfully to decision-making processes.
Ashimi further appealed to residents who share the APC’s progressive ideology but have yet to formally register to seize the opportunity to become bona fide members of the party, noting that governance thrives when citizens are actively involved in the political process.
Party leaders present at the meetings echoed the chairman’s message, assuring members of a seamless and transparent registration process. They also encouraged ward executives to mobilise extensively within their communities to ensure maximum participation.
Meanwhile, some party faithful who spoke at the gatherings commended the council chairman for his consistent engagement with party structures at the grassroots, describing the e-registration drive as timely and necessary for repositioning the APC ahead of future political contests.
The meetings concluded with a renewed commitment by ward leaders to intensify mobilisation efforts, as Somolu APC sets its sights on achieving widespread compliance with the e-party registration exercise across all wards in the local government.
