Chairman Ashimi hits Somolu Streets with yuletide cheer, vows to expand welfare initiatives

The festive spirit reached a high note in Somolu as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, personally took to the streets to ensure no household was left behind this season. In a remarkable display of grassroots leadership, the Chairman led a massive distribution exercise, bringing Yuletide giveaways directly to the doorsteps of residents.

Moving through the heart of Somolu, Chairman Ashimi and his team distributed essential festive items to ensure families could celebrate with dignity and joy. The giveaways included Rice for holiday meals, Live chickens to brighten the dining table and Direct cash gifts to provide immediate financial relief.

This street-to-street outreach is not a standalone event; it serves as the grand finale of a month-long commitment to social welfare within the community. This latest gesture comes on the heels of 2,500 Special Welfare Packages specifically curated and delivered to elderly citizens. It follows the previously reported Massive End-of-the-Year Packages, including cows, goats, turkeys, vegetable oil, and various sizes (kg) of rice, distributed systematically throughout the previous week to various stakeholders, vulnerable persons, structures and other residents.

“The smiles on the faces of our people are the greatest reward. We are committed to ensuring that every Somolu resident feels the warmth of the season,” Chairman Ashimi stated. “Furthermore, this initiative will not stop here; we shall continue to reach out to even more streets.”_

The atmosphere was charged with emotion as both young and old showered the Chairman with prayers and heartfelt appreciation. For many, these interventions provided the much-needed support to navigate the holiday season comfortably. As the year draws to a close, the message remains clear: “We are stronger together.”
