Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) came alive with joy and gratitude as the festive season arrived early for residents and council staff, following a large-scale yuletide welfare outreach spearheaded by the Mayoress, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada (MNIM).
The end-of-year gesture, organised as part of the council’s annual social intervention programme, saw the distribution of bags of rice, cash support, turkeys, chickens and cows to residents across wards in the LCDA. The initiative brought much-needed relief to many households amid prevailing economic challenges, while also reinforcing the spirit of love, sharing and unity associated with the Christmas season.
True to her consistent practice since assuming office, Mayoress Bada reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to putting the people first. She noted that governance goes beyond policy formulation, stressing that leaders must remain responsive to the immediate needs of the populace, especially during festive periods when family responsibilities increase.
In addition to community members, council staff were not left out, as they also benefited from the largesse.
