The Conference57 Chairmen, Lagos State wishes to announce that earlier today, Friday, 31st October, 2025, a brief but momentous meeting was held during which the Chairman and Secretary of Conference57 Chairmen in Lagos State ๐๐ป๐ด๐ฟ. ๐๐ฏ๐ฑ๐๐น๐น๐ฎ๐ต๐ถ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐ข๐น๐ผ๐๐ฎ (Executive Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government) and ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐จ๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ธ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฏ๐ถ ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐๐ฎ๐ (Executive Chairman, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government) were formally introduced to the National Secretariat of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) as the Lagos State ALGON Chairman and Secretary, respectively.
The formal introduction was conducted by the Former ALGON National President and immediate past Lagos State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Kolade Alabi, who is also the Immediate Past Executive Chairman of Bariga Local Council.
In attendance at the meeting were key representatives of the ALGON National Secretariat, including the Chief of Staff to the ALGON National President, Hon. Shehu Sarkin-Kebbi Jega, and the Ag. Director General of ALGON, Barr. (Mrs.) Evan Enekwe.
The engagement reaffirmed the strategic importance of Lagos State in the national framework of local governance. It also strengthened the bond between Conference57 Chairmen and the ALGON National Body, positioning Lagos as a model for effective coordination, policy synergy, and inclusive development among Local Government Councils across the federation.
This development holds great significance for grassroots governance in Lagos State, as it reinforces the leadership capacity of our Chairmen in driving people-oriented initiatives, enhancing intergovernmental cooperation, and ensuring that the collective voice of the 57 Local Governments and LCDAs continues to resonate at the national level.
