The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, on 25th of September, 2025 hosted a delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Apex Leaders and other council officials who came to pay their respects following the recent passing of a Legislative member, Hon. Basirat Oluwakemi Mayabikan, who represented Bajulaiye-Folagoro (Ward F).
Chairman Ashimi received the leaders shortly after their condolence visit to the deceased’s family. They included Apostle Peter Oyewusi, Pastor Adefalujo Ademola Olisa, and Alhaji Fatai Balogun, as well as the APC Apex Women Leaders led by Hon. Mrs. Abosede Janet Ogunlaja.
Also in attendance were the Somolu 10th Legislative Arm, led by Rt. Hon. Tunde James Oyeyiola, and a delegation from the neighbouring Bariga Local Community Development Area, which included the Executive Chairman, Hon. Bukola Omope Adedeji ‘Iyaniwura’, and the Honourable Councillors led by Rt. Hon. (Alh) Wasiu Adeleke Balogun.
The gathering offered a moment of collective prayer for the repose of Hon. Mayabikan’s soul. Attendees also offered prayers for the Local Councils and all Public Servants, seeking divine protection against all forms of horrific incidents in the community.
