Day 2: Mayoress commissions 6 more roads, healthcare centre in Ikosi-Isheri

In a continued show of commitment to infrastructural development and accessible healthcare delivery, the  Award-Winning Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Hon. Chief (Princess) Samiat Abolanle Bada, on the second day of her ongoing commissioning tour, unveiled six newly constructed roads and a state-of-the-art Shangisha Public Healthcare Centre (PHC) situated within the community.

The newly commissioned roads span various strategic locations across the LCDA, aimed at easing transportation, boosting local commerce, and improving connectivity within the Ikosi-Isheri axis. The PHC, on the other hand, is designed to provide quality healthcare services to residents, especially women, children, and the elderly.

Speaking at the event, the Oluomo of Kosofe and Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri, Hon. Bada, reaffirmed her dedication to the welfare of the people, noting that the projects are part of her administration’s resolve to ensure the delivery of democratic dividends.

“My people deserve the best, and I remain committed to delivering impactful projects that will touch lives positively. Today’s commissioning is not just another ribbon-cutting ceremony, but a fulfillment of the promises I made to the good people of Ikosi-Isheri”. She said.

Meanwhile, shortly after, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Gbenga Omotosho who was there to represent the Governor Sanwo-Olu described the commissioned projects as top-notch while he commended Mayoress for having the interest of her people at heart.

In the same vein, the Commissioner for Water Front, Hon. Dayo Bush never hesitate to pour encomium on the Yeyesewa of Ilara Kingdom for given Kayode Falowo street a facelift noting that such gesture would durther boost the trust and confidence they have in her leadership.

Similarly, Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in his remarks lauded Hon. Samiat Bada for ensuring the residents of the newly rehabilitated street felt her impact as far governance was concerned emphasising the significance of keeping ones promises at all times.

The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and excitement as community leaders, residents, and political stakeholders turned out en masse to witness the commissioning ceremony. Many applauded the Mayoress for her consistent effort in driving development across the LCDA.

One of the residents, Mrs. Modinat Adeyemi, commended the Mayoress for her people-oriented leadership. “We are proud to have a leader who listens and delivers. These roads will save us from the hardship we used to face, especially during the rainy season. And this healthcare centre is a blessing for our mothers and children”. She said.

Some of the projects commissioned includes Hon. Kunle Soname Multi-purpose hall, Hon. Samiat Abolanle Bada Office Complex, Hon. Kazeem Afolabi Shopping Complex, Isheri, Adenike Ogunye Street, Magodo Phase II, Kayode Falowo street, Diamond Estate, Magodo, New Customary Court, Shangisha PHC and Agencies Building.

With this latest round of projects, Hon. Bada continues to set a high bar for grassroots governance in Lagos State, consolidating her reputation as a proactive and visionary leader.

As the commissioning tour progresses, expectations remain high among residents for even more developmental strides under her administration.
