ROSFEST 2025: RC Ikate wins Tug of War, rated overall best club

Participating in the pioneer Rotary International District 9112 Rotary Sports Festival (ROSFEST) 2025 marks a watershed moment in the history of the Rotary Club of Ikate, founded in 1986. Specifically, the club won two beautiful trophies viz: one for the Tug of War while the other was for being the all-round best kitted or dressed club, best coordinated, best supporting and best in sportsmanship respectively.

Once the announcement in this respect was made by the event organizers, the club’s joy knew no bounds.

The Rotary Club of Ikate is looking forward to participating in the District 9112 ROSFEST 2026 as defending champions of Tug of War and Overall Best club respectively.

While appreciating RC Ikate’s efforts, the District Governor of RI District 9112 Rtn. Femi Adenekan echoed the following – “Rotary Club of Ikate is a club that will never die.” Responding, the Irresistible President of RC Ikate, Rtn Eriata Oribhabor said inter alia: “Sir, we are meritoriously moving to the top, and hope to stay up there.” Furthermore, he opined that “the journey of a thousand poems starts with a poem”

Winners of the Tug of War event are; Mary Okereke (Club Admin), Chinonye Nnadi (Club Assistant Sec), Don Emeka Anetoh (PP), Dominic Chukwuemeka (Club Sec. & PN), and Chidozie Ofoegbu (Vice President) deserving the RC Ikate Most Valuable Sporting Rotarian (MVSR) Award.

In view of the several projects carried out so far, the club is placing on record the 7th of March, 2025 as a day of plenty wins. On this day, the heavens opened up a rain of blessings on the club won fantastic prizes from raffle draws at the ROSFEST Dinner and Awards night.

The Irresistible president appreciates the Rotary International District 9112 and the Past President Alozie R. Nsirimobi led the Rotary Sports Activities Committee 2024-2025 for a well-organized pioneer sporting event that seeks to create opportunities for networking, good health, and bonding for Rotarians.
