The prestigious Royal Model Award organized by Oyin Koncept has honoured notable figures in Lagos state for their outstanding contributions to leadership, education, youth empowerment, and community development at its 5th edition of the annual award ceremony held on Sunday 9th February 2025.
Among the recipients were the Somolu APC Apex Leader; Hon. Ademola Olisa Adefaulujo, Special Assistant to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Civic Engagement; Hon Ruth Ayomide Lijirin, two aides of the Somolu Council Chairman, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, the Chief Press Secretary to Somolu LG Chairman; Comrade Oseni Owolabi Ajimomuiya, and the Senior Special Assistant to Council Chairman on WAPA; Hon. Maryam Owolabi-Bada including nine other distinguished individuals.
The award ceremony, held in Lagos, was a gathering of political figures, community leaders, and youth advocates, celebrating excellence in governance and service to society. The organizers noted that the recipients were carefully selected based on their impactful roles in driving positive change in the Lagos metropolis.
Speaking at the event, the convener of the Royal Model Award, Akinniran Folorunso (a.k.a Kommissioner), emphasized that the initiative seeks to encourage selfless service and inspire more people to contribute meaningfully to societal growth. He praised the awardees for their dedication to grassroots development and urged them to continue their good work.
The Somolu Apex Leader and former Secretary to the Local Government (SLG); Hon. Ademola Olisa Adefalujo who was awarded the ‘Political Personality of the Year’ for his leadership and mentorship role in the community, expressed gratitude for the honour, stating that it was a motivation to do more.
Similarly, Dullar’s aides, Comrade Oseni Ajimomuiya and Hon. Maryam Owolabi-Bada were awarded as the ‘Most Outstanding CPS of the Year’ and ‘Most Outstanding SSA of the Year’ respectively for their commitment to supporting governance and initiatives that uplift the people of Somolu never hesitate to pour encomium on the organizers while they dedicated the awards to their mentor and Council Chief, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ and Hon. Mrs. Mariam Omotanwa Salau.
Awardees drawn from different sectors, including politics, business, education, religion, and community development, also expressed appreciation and pledged to remain committed to service.
The event featured musical performances, comedy, and goodwill messages from notable guests who lauded the initiative as a step toward fostering a progressive and responsible society.
