The beginning and end of Ibiyemi Street, Palmgrove, in Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State, became a spectacle of liveliness and festivity as Ijebu-Tedo Ward C of the All Progressives Congress (APC) hosted its End of Year Party Celebration.
The event, held on January 9, 2025, was no doubt, a celebration of commitment and dedication to the party, bringing together top political stalwarts and loyal members from various wards across the community in attendance.
The atmosphere was lively, with colorful attires worn by attendees representing the unity and diversity of the party’s membership. Party chieftains, grassroots mobilizers, and youth leaders graced the occasion, reiterating their shared commitment to strengthening the APC in Somolu and beyond.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Leaders Council, Hon. Abdul Rasaq Tajudeen commended members for their unwavering loyalty and contributions to the party’s growth. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by party stalwarts and urged members to continue working together to sustain the party’s achievements in Ijebutedo and beyond.
“This celebration is not just about the end of the year but also about appreciating the resilience and dedication of our members who have remained steadfast in upholding the principles of our great party,” Hon Tajudeen said.
Among the notable dignitaries present were Somolu/Bariga APC Apex leader; Hon. Apostle Peter Oyewusi, the former Secretary to the Local Government (SLG); Hon. Ademola Olisa, Apex leader Alhaji Fatai Bakare (Baba Oba), the Chairman of Somolu Justice Forum; Hon. Shakirudeen Anifowoshe Denge, former Somolu CDC Vice-Chairman; Chief Mrs. Modupe Oluwole, and the former Somolu LG Revenue Chairman; Mr. Mike Ohikhe, representatives of Somolu Apex Women leaders, and Youth Coordinator for the ward.
Each speaker emphasized the importance of unity and strategic planning as the party gears up for future elections.
Entertainment from one of the best DJs in the community (DJ US) added flair to the celebration, with musical performances that kept the audience engaged. Guests were treated to an array of delicacies and drinks, creating a hospitable environment for networking and sociability among the party faithful.
The best part of the event was the presentation of awards to outstanding committee members who had distinguished themselves through their commitment and service. Recipients expressed gratitude and pledged to continue contributing to the party’s progress.
In his closing remarks, one of the Special Guests of Honor, Hon. Denge Anifowoshe, a former APC Federal House of Representatives aspirant in the area, praised the organizers for hosting a successful event. He urged members to use the celebration as a springboard for renewed energy in supporting the party’s ideals.
However, one of the preferred and talk-about catering outfits in the community, Prestige Party Concern was on the ground to serve the guests, sumptuous delicacies that kept them salivating for more as they cooled down with chilled and assorted drinks of different varieties.
