In a notable step to strengthen local governance, Somolu Local Government Chairman Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, fondly known as ‘Dullar,’ recently provided official vehicles to several key council chiefs. This initiative underscores Dullar’s dedication to enhancing administrative efficiency and aims to support the critical roles these officials play in Somolu’s community development.

Among the beneficiaries of this gesture were Alhaja Adetutu Surakat, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation; Alhaji Nurudeen Anjorin, Supervisor for Tourism; Mr. Adebola Banjoko, Chairman of Somolu Revenue Committee; Engr. Femi Osifala, the Council Engineer; and Dr. Bidemi Abiola, the Medical Officer of Health. Each of these officials is entrusted with pivotal responsibilities, and the provision of these vehicles is expected to facilitate their outreach and operational capabilities within the community.

The Hon. Adekunle Odujobi-Ekiyemi, Vice Chairman of Somolu LG, was present at the handover ceremony, along with the Hon. Yomi Osunkoya, Leader of Somolu Legislative Council, and the Hon. Ayodele Afolabi, Secretary to the Local Government. Council Manager Mr. Abiodun Barbinton and Council Treasurer Mr. Abayomi Odusanya also attended, signifying unified support for Dullar’s leadership and vision.

Chairman Dullar emphasized the importance of equipping local leaders, noting that these resources will enable them to respond more effectively to residents’ needs. He reiterated his commitment to fostering an environment where council chiefs can fulfill their roles with efficiency and dedication.
