C.M.S Primary school in Bariga area of the state was a beehive of activities as LiRA foundation hosted its 5th edition of ‘Back to school’ Programme on Saturday 7th September 2024 amidst pomp pageantry.
According to the Founder and the SSA to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Civil Engagement, Hon. Ruth Ayomide Lijirin revealed to newsmen that the initiative was aim at helping instill educational values into the young generation of school children which she sees as a way of giving back to the society.
She went further, “I grew up in Bariga and I have experienced the same thing they’re going through which is the reason why I established this foundation to help the younger ones in achieving their educational goals through the LiRA foundation; sharing educational materials comprising of School Bags, Exercise Book, School Sandals, Water Bottle, Mathematical Set and so and so forth”.
“And with the success of 5th edition, we’ve made quite a number of significant impacts giving back to the community which will go long way in making the community a better place and we’ll continue to do our best to keep the good work going”. She stated.
She, however, thanked the performing Mr Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his relentless support for the youth of the State with extension to Distinguished Guests of honours, the incredible committee members and other generous supporters for their commitment.
In her final remarks, she urged the school children to remain focused in their studies in order for them achieve their educational career and as well the future leaders status.
In the same vein, one of the Lagos APC stalwarts, Hon. Chief Denge Shakirudeen Anifowoshe in his submission heaped praises on the convener describing the initiative as a step in the right direction that’ll put soccour in the faces of the school children and their parents who could not afford the educational materials.
“The convener is truly doing a great job ensuring the younger generation of children are getting the needed attention through her foundation and I will say that again and again that she’s doing a great job. I wish to encourage the recipients to focus on their education in order for them to attain their potentials when and where necessary”.
The educational event which paraded thousands of school children under the theme, “Develop a Child, Develop a Nation.” initiative was a big success that attracted widespread commendation from parents and guardians in and outside of Bariga LCDA.
