Hence, the reason why the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ decided to build a Fire service station near the new Local Government Complex to provide a crucial service to the council and the residents by ensuring that there is a rapid response to fire emergencies which can potentially save lives and properties, thereby giving the community a sense of security and reassurance.
The Agba-Akin of Agboyi Kingdom in his wisdom had given it a second thought that having a fire service station in the Bashua area would not only help to reduce the risk of fire outbreaks but also control the spread of fires when they occur thereby minimizing damage and loss. The people of Somolu local government are likely to be excited with this development as it demonstrates the commitment of the incumbent local government chairman to their safety and well-being.
The council chief having considered several factors, thought it is important for a fire station to be strategically placed to ensure quick response times to emergencies which is centrally located within the community to minimize travel distance to different parts of the community and ensure that all residents have access to timely emergency response services couple with professional drivers who are conversant with major road network within the community.
