Orekoya hosts Somolu Apex Women Leaders

… advocate for unity among women

The Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Somolu Constituency 1 and the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports and Social Development, Honorable Abiodun Orekoya, recently hosted Somolu Apex Women Leaders at his office in the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

During this event, the Chairperson of Somolu Apex Women Leaders, Hon. Mrs. Abosede Ogunlaja, congratulated Hon. Abiodun Orekoya on his electoral victory and success in the election tribunal where she also praised his efforts in youth empowerment and requested similar initiatives for women in Somolu.

In response, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya expressed his gratitude for the support of the Apex Women Leaders during and after the general election while he encouraged them to work towards unity within the Somolu political structure and discouraged factionalism.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports and Youth Development assured the Apex Women Leaders that he would consider their requests and put machinery in place to ensure their desires are met and be able to contribute their quota to the growth and development of the community as far as women in leadership and governance are concerned.

As a token of their appreciation, the Somolu Apex Women Leaders presented Hon. Abiodun Orekoya with an award and gifts coupled with sincere prayers for a peaceful, positive, and development-oriented tenure in office.
