Free Summer Coaching Class: Somolu council helmsman ‘Dullar’ wows students, doles out cash gifts

Parents, teachers, and guardians were left with mouth agape on Monday as the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ paid an unscheduled visit to one of the summer coaching centers situated at Agunbiade Primary School, Somolu where he doles out N1000 each to about 158 students which he sees as a way of encouraging them.

The Agba-Akin of Agboyi Kingdom while speaking at the center commended the teachers for engaging the students qualitatively while he described the turnout of pupils for free summer coaching class as very impressive.

He, however, urged the students to remain focused stating that it’s only those that work hard, smarter, and refused to be distracted that’ll reap bountifully in the future.

Similarly, the Special Adviser to the council chairman on Education and coordinator of the Free Summer Coaching Class, Hon. Adesina Adeeso Sodiq (Obama) reacted swiftly stating that Dullar’s exemplary gesture has shown clearly, his love for academic excellence, the status which he oftentimes exhibited openly to those who care to know and also reflect in the general performance of students in Somolu community on annual basis with handsome and huge accolades to show for it.

He narrated further, “Mr. Koseleri always wants to be on top of everything. Take for instance, Somolu is the first local government to start extra moral classes and aside from that, he always likes to encourage them with a token bearing in mind the challenges of fuel subsidy which go a long way in lessening the burden of paying lesson and transportation”.

One of the parents Mrs. Halimat Keshinro, a corn seller who trades near the center also commended the teachers who engage them on a daily basis which she claimed will relieve the parents and guardians of the burden of having to pay for lessons and as well keep them busy academically.

“Honestly, I give kudos to the council chairman of Somolu LG for the pivotal role he’s playing in the educational sector as far as Somolu LG is concerned. Not only that, he deserves yet another thumbs-up for finding time out of his tight schedule to come around not only to check on them but to also encourage them with a cash gift, he deserves 30 Gbosas simply because the gesture will no doubt soften the burden on the parents while students gain morally, physically and socially”. She posited.
