One of the Somolu-born technocrats, Engr. Abiodun Hussein has lost his beloved father, Alhaji Surajudeen Kolawole Abiru who died on the 3rd of August, 2023 at the ripe age of 86.
The Octogenarian was reported to have died in his sleep in his hometown, Ijebu-Aiyepe, under Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State in the Western part of Nigeria.
According to the eldest son of the deceased, Engr. Biodun Hussein who broke the news to Somolu News described his father as a loving and caring family man who never joked with both his immediate and extended family. Born as a devoted Muslim and practised the religion till he breathe his last.
“To be honest with you, my father was a great man, and a devoted Muslim who trained his children in the way of the Almighty Allah. A complete gentleman of honour, loving and caring. He never for once harbour malicious feelings against anyone and was always happy with others making progress”.
“Let me also tell you that he was a family man well respected by young and old in the community where he reside. He was a cheerful giver who help those in need around him in his own little, irrespective of their colour and tribe. The act he did with humility and self-esteem devoid of ego. A detribalized personality to the core I would say about him”.
“No doubt about the fact that we would surely miss him so much and would always be remembered for his candid advice about life. I also believe in the fact that the Lord giveth life and taketh anytime He wishes. We all owe death and we’ll all leave this life at the appropriate time. I pray to God to grant him eternal life and forgive his misdeed while on earth”. He concludes.
Until his last breathe, Alhaji Abiru was in private practice (runs a taxi business at C.M.S, Lagos Island, Lagos) and has made his mark in the business where he found himself with honour and pride.
His eldest son, Engr. Biodun Hussein is a building expert who has a good track record in real estate and energy sectors in and outside Lagos environs.
Meanwhile, friends, family, and business associates have since then flooded their social media pages with tributes as a way of commiserating with the bereaved family.
The Ijebu-Aiyepe-born Octogenarian is survived by wives, children, and grandchildren and has been buried according to Islamic rite.
