The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA has approved additional food packs for vulnerable constituents, barely one month he distributed 6,000 packs to Widows, Unemployed Youths, Aged, Persons Living with Physical Disabilities, and Women.

This humanitarian intervention of the Senator is a response to the current economic discomfort occasioned by the removal of the fuel subsidy. The Senator believes that the food packs containing: Spaghetti, Macaroni, Noodles, Garri, Semolina, Wheat, Butter, Granulated Sugar, Groundnut oil, Couscous, and packaged snacks, will provide succour to the most vulnerable members of the Lagos East Senatorial District in this trying period.

Across the district, vulnerable people who are: Widows, Unemployed Youths, Aged, Persons Living with Physical Disabilities, and Women, have been nominated as beneficiaries.

It will be recalled that on Sunday, 25th June 2023, Senator Abiru launched a quarterly food packs programme and distributed 6,000 food packs to vulnerable constituents in Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Kosofe, and Somolu. The distribution took place the same day at various collection points across the Lagos East Senatorial District. The next quarter distribution of the food packs is scheduled for September.

It is also worthy of note that the Senator had earlier supported vulnerable people with the sum of over N150 Million (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) for about 24 months under his COVID-19 Relief Support Scheme.
