Somolu APC Women wing hits the streets, drums support for Sanwo-Olu, Orekoya

Thousands of Somolu All Progressive Congress (APC) women wing and supporters on Tuesday 7th, 2023 stormed the streets ahead of Saturday’s Governorship and House of Assembly election in support of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s re-election for a second term in office and elect Hon. Biodun Orekoya to represent Somolu constituency I at the Lagos state House of Assembly.

The campaign train which started from Orekoya’s constituency office saw a mammoth crowd of women party faithful in full campaign gear, wielding different campaign souvenirs going from street to street to preach the gospel of Sanwo-Olu and Orekoya to the people.

The eye-catching political jamboree was the talk of the town as the women switch from one song to the other praising Sanwo-Olu and Orekoya for their sterling leadership qualities that have put soccour on the faces of Somolites and Lagosians at large at one time or the other.

Hon. Bisola who spoke to Somolu Correspondent said the move became necessary in support of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat and Hon. Biodun Orekoya in order for them to continue the good work they started noting that such responsibility will give them the opportunity for their voice to be heard when and where necessary.

“As for Sanwo-Olu, he has done so well that he deserves the second term in office so as for him to complete the projects he started. He’s a trusted man of honour that’ll further give the Lagosian the laudable infrastructural development that many will benefit from and this is the time to vote for articulate, trusted, and experienced Hon. Biodun Orekoya to represent Somolu Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly.” She echoed.

Meanwhile, the Ward E Women leader who also doubled as the leader of Orekoya Babes, Hon. Mrs. Bisola Adenola poured encomium on the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu for his unflinching support all the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates had been enjoying since the campaign started, describing the multiple award-winning chairman as a worthy and exemplary leader.

“She went further, “Honestly, I want to specially commend the council chairman for his exemplary leadership simply because he has been up and doing since the campaign commenced. He deserved every accolade that comes his way.” I think he has the leadership trait buried in him and he must be commended.

She, however, enjoined the women folks to come out en mass on Saturday, March 11 to vote for Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Orekoya stating that women play significant roles in the growth and development of the society and that such should be replicated in democratic governance.
