…applauds Hon. Olowo Rotimi for his street credibility
Ahead of the 2023 general elections billed for February 25th and March 11, one of the vibrant, intellectual, and thorough-bred Somolu grassroots politicians, Hon. Oluwabori Oluwaseye Awofodu who’s currently vying for a seat to represent Somolu Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly under the platform of Action Alliance Party (AA) has reiterated his commitment towards ensuring that the youths are empowered in their line of skills if elected into office come March 11the 2023.
The Civil Engineering expert cum politician made this statement during an interview session with a Somolu News correspondent on Saturday shortly after a brief meeting with a group of people where he claimed that his constituents were yet to experience good governance in the last decade of democracy as expected.
He continued, “I was born and brought up in Somolu; Anifowoshe precisely. I’ve lived in Somolu for so many years, and I’ve seen how governance is been run. I’ve also so seen how people are suffering being one of the masses alongside my family, my parents, my siblings, and friends with whom I grew up in the same neighbourhood and have understood how governance tells on the masses.”
“The good governance has not gotten to my people as expected in the last decade of this ruling party. Fine, there’re brilliant ideas they might have and brilliant ones like Hon. Olowo Rotimi in the community. Yes, I can pick from that young man, he’s a very good person. I must be sincere with you, he has the interest of the people at heart, and little he can do he has done it.” He stated.
“And for the youths, I’ve met with few of them on few occasions and I’ve heard them talking, telling me their plans which I’m ready as a lawmaker if I’m elected by God’s grace. I’ll empower them in their line of skills, I’ll engage with them, ask questions and see the exact ones to empower.”
The light in complexion dude, however, hinted that the issue of security in the Somolu community will be sorted out because Somolu youths are brilliant and intelligent to interpret and secure the Somolu community perfectly.
“Looking at the security issue, the youths are brilliant and intelligent enough to tell me the security network and together, we’ll secure Somolu the way we want it to be.”
Meanwhile, he warned the electorate to open their eyes and vote for competency noting that engaging in vote buying will only bring further hardship. “Give it to them, we’ll all suffer it for another four years. We’ve seen our predecessors for decades telling us the same language. They came to us with exercise books, T-shirts, and so many other things they’ll offer. I urge you to open your eyes and vote for competency.
