The well-attended political event brought together all the ethnic nationalities from Yoruba, Ndigbo, Arewa, Middle-Belt, and South-South ethnic extraction not leaving out artisans and people with disabilities (PWD) where they all promise to engage others to make their vote count when the elections start in earnest.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of Somolu/Bariga Apex leaders forum, Apostle Peter Oyewusi in his welcome address appreciated all the ethnic nationalities present where he revealed that the essence of the gathering was not only to officially present the APC candidates to the electorate but to also solicit for their votes ahead of the elections billed to commence on February 25th, 2023.
“First and foremost, I want to appreciate you all for your presence here today as we officially present to you our candidates for the coming general elections and I urge you to ensure you have your Permanent Voters Card (PVC) intact which’ll enable you to vote for all APC candidates in the coming general elections.” He stated
In the same manner, the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ in his remarks said that the reason for the gathering was to sensitize the stakeholders in Somolu/Bariga on the need to collect their voters and as well vote for all our candidates.
“We’re here to enlighten the stakeholders in Somolu/Bariga to ensure they get their voters card ready for the election exercise. We’re appealing to them to go out enmass and vote for the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates which include our Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his Vice-President, Kashim Shettima, Lagos state governorship candidate; Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru representing Lagos East Senatorial District, House Reps member; Hon. Ademorin Kuye and Somolu Lagos State House of Assembly candidates; Hon. Biodun Orekoya and Samuel Apata respectively.”
The President of ALGON and the chairman of Bariga LCDA, Hon. Alabi Kolade David in his remarks appealed for continuous support from all the stakeholders in Somolu/Bariga noting that their support to achieve the needed victory at the poll will enable the elected candidates to reciprocate judiciously when and where necessary.
“I’m appealing for all the stakeholders’ continuous support especially the youths while assuring them that we’ll respond in reciprocation for your good deed rendered when we need you. He enthused.
Present at the event includes the Director General of the APC campaign Group, Somolu/Bariga Federal Constituency; Hon. Denge Shakiru Anifowose, Distinguished Senator Anthony Adefuye; the chairman of Somolu/Bariga Apex leaders Forum; Apostle Peter Oyewusi, the former Bariga LCDA chairman; Hon. Omoyele Sulaimon (ORIS), the former chairman of Somolu LG, Hon. Sesan Olanrewaju; the chairman of Somolu LG; Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ and his counterpart from Bariga LCDA; Hon. Alabi Kolade David not leaving out Somolu/Bariga legislative arms.
Others also present are Secretary to the Somolu LG; Hon. Dele Afolabi, his counterpart from Bariga LCDA; Hon. Bukonla Adedeji (Iyaniwura), former Somolu LGA chairman; Hon. Deacon Femi Taiwo, Bariga LGA chairman; Hon. Akin Majolagbe, Somolu LGA Women leader; Hon. Mrs. Omolara Rabiu, Bariga LGA Women leader, Hon and council of traditional chiefs from both third tiers of government.
