Top political elites in the Somolu community which include the Executive Chairman of the Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, the current Lagos House of Assembly member representing Somolu constituency I, Hon. Rotimi Olowo Emmanuel and the Somolu APC House of Assembly 2023 flag bearer, Hon. Engr. Abiodun Orekoya have sent out Eid-el-Maulud greetings to the Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s celebration.
The Somolu Council Chairman, Hon. ‘Dullar’ in his remarks congratulated Muslims for being alive to witness another celebration of the birthday of Prophet Mohammed.
He also called on all true Muslims to live in peace with fellow Muslims and non-Muslims alike in order to show to all that Islam is a religion of peace while imploring Nigerians to shun ethnic, political, and religious differences and work towards building a safer and better Nigeria.
However, in his goodwill message to commemorate the birthday of the Prophet, Hon. Rotimi Olowo said: “I greet fellow Nigerian Muslims as they celebrate yet another birthday of Prophet Mohammed, and pray that we all live to celebrate many more of such birthdays in years to come.
Olumoko as fondly called by his admirers and political supporters enjoined Muslims to follow the exemplary leadership of the Holy Prophet by promoting peaceful existence.
“As true Muslims, we all must eschew chaos and promote peaceful coexistence with fellow Muslims and non-Muslims as well.
“Our conduct must radiate peace and love for fellow Nigerians at all times irrespective of their religion or ethnic background.
Also, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya in his submission urged Muslims to always live in peace and as well pray for peace in the nation noting that Prophet Muhammed (PBOH) was a man of peace and he shared the message of love and peace through the religion of Islam throughout his lifetime.”
“It is only when we live in peace and harmony that our great country, Nigeria, can witness true and sustainable socio-economic development, and only then will all Nigerians be able to realize their potential in all that they do.” he revered.
In the same vein, the Special Adviser to the Somolu council Chairman on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Maryam Owolabi Bada in her birthday anniversary message congratulated Muslims all over Nigeria and the world at large while urging them to share love and understanding among themselves which is the major ingredient for a peaceful co-existence, the main message of Prophet Muhammad and Islam.
“I want to seize this occasion to urge all Nigerians to commit themselves to make a greater effort to imbibe these qualities and values as they celebrate the Prophet’s birth.”
“I wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and Lagos, in particular, a happy Eid-el-Maulud.” She said.
