The former Executive Secretary of Somolu local government and Somolu All Progressive Congress (APC) House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya has paid a condolence visit to the family of Mrs. Omowunmi Mamowora who passed away at an undisclosed hospital a few days ago after a brief illness.
In his condolence message, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya who was represented by Special Adviser to Somolu Council Chairman on Health, Hon. Koya Olayinka-Sodipe and the OPT team described the death of Mrs. Omowunmi Mamowora popularly known as Iya Alaje as a rude shock noting that death took her away when her service to the party and the community was most needed.
“She’s a loving and caring sister, good Christian, dedicated, patriotic politician, and a great mobilizer whose roles in the party can never be forgotten in a hurry”.
He continued, “Without any iota of doubt, Mrs. Mamowora is an exemplary woman of honour who had never been found wanting when it comes mobilizing people for electioneering not leaving out her love for community service and humanity during her lifetime”.
“We love her but God loves her most. We pray for the family she left behind the fortitude to bear the great and irreparable loss and as well pray to God to grant her eternal rest”.
Party members, families, neighbours, and sympathizers were all in attendance to bid the late APC member farewell at the Atan cemetery where she was laid to rest on Wednesday 3rd August 2022.
Also present during the final outing ceremony include Orekoya Political Train (OPT) delegation, which are Alhaji Mustapha Bisiriyu (Chairman), Hon Adedayo Adefuye (DG), Hon. Segun Alabi, Alhaji Adewale Seriki, Adeolu Adebambo, Hon. Abdul-Lateef Muibi, Hon. Jide Giwa, Adetola Orekoya.
Others are Alhaja Mosunmola Fowora, Mrs. Olayinka Elliott, Mrs. Serah Folarin, Jimoh Ogunfuyi, Otunba Adewale Mebude, Mr. Adebowale, Mrs. and Kemi Mayabikan among others.
‘Iyalaje’ died on Tuesday 26th July 2022 at the age of 60 and she’s survived by children, grandchildren, brothers, Uncle, and Niece.
