Somolu residents storm Sagamu for Pa Samuel Odujoko’s final burial

Nothing can be more glamorous than a befitting burial ceremony accorded the late technocrat and community leader at the Methodist school, Ofin Sagamu, Ogun state, the venue of the final outing of Pa Samuel Ayoola Odujoko who died at the ripe age of 87 years.

Family, friends, top government functionaries, political elites, and well-wishers from far and near especially Somolu residents besieged the deceased hometown in their Orange-Brown padded Ankara Aso-Ebi to pay their last respect to a great man of honour.

Speaking Somolu News, one of the neighbours and political elites, Hon. Niyi Osibemekun popularly known as Jackal who grew up on the same street with the late Pa Samuel described him as a complete gentleman who lived an exemplary life worthy of emulating

He speaks further, “Baba Odujoko was a good man and a loving father. Well-loved by young and old and very accommodating. In fact, most of us grew up in his house, he tolerated us because his house is the center of the playground for most of the youths in Somolu”.

“And today, I feel like I’m burying my own father. Even, before he died, he still remembers everybody despite the fact that he has lost his sight”. He opined

Guests were entertained with both sumptuous local African dishes and assorted drinks while live bands were busy churning out good vibes to the admiration of those in attendance.

During his hay days, Pa Samuel Ayoola Odujoko was said to have had a stint with Leventis where he was made Manager of Merchandise before he rose to the position of Director (Technical).

And thereafter, he established his own business, Samayo, and Sons where he deals in office partitioning, window blinds, construction, suspended ceilings. A profession where he made his mark with no blemish records.

He has travelled the length and breadth of Nigeria, Europe, and Caribbean countries before he retired to his Ogunbadejo’s residence in the Somolu area of Lagos state where he lived with his family until he breathe his last in November 2021.

The Chairman of Unity Community Development Association (CDA), Somolu, and one of Pa, Samuel Odujoko’s sons, Engr. Lanre Odujoko, however, poured encomium on those who despite their tight schedule still find time to attend the final outing ceremony while he prayed to God to grant their heart desire.

He was survived by wives, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren
