The Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government has in a bid to restore normalcy to security, and also towards boosting security embarked on the drive to the highest attainable point in Somolu Community after the hijacked ENDSARS protest which resulted in the burning of the Alade and Onipanu police station.
The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu fulfilled his pledge as a responsible political office holder, by presenting brand new Patrol Vehicles to CSP Ani Francis the (Divisional Police Officer of Onipanu) and CSP Oladeji Kehinde, the (Divisional Police Officer of Alade) respectively.
The presentation which saw the light of the day, as done at the Somolu Local Government Secretariat was part of the solidified initial plan put in place to reinstate tranquility back to the Local Government, following the hijacked peaceful EndSars Protest which led to the massive destruction of both Police Stations, Markets, Goods, and Properties worth Millions of Naira last year.
While recounting the stupendous loss from the fiery inferno, the Chairman vowed to forestall negligence and collaborate with the security agencies for more requisite support at all times.
“We’ve learned enough lessons from the notable hurtful event of last year. However, our administration won’t hesitate to do all that it takes to work effectively with all stakeholders towards the strengthening of the security of our community from further and future occurrences.

“In achieving the roadmap to peace, unity, and effective governance, it’s very important we bring forth the essential apparatuses for the security agencies to work better during their daily patrols and other stipulated activities. Also, we will always support them tactically, so as to enforce the law in the best possible manner,” he concluded.
Joining the well disposed Chairman during the address were Ogudu ‘Area H’ Commander, ably represented by the duo of DSP Rotimi Ogunmuyiwa and ASP Supo Kayode; Hon. Olowo Rotimi (Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Somolu 1), Hon. Abiodun Orekoya (Member, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission), Mr. Lai Giwa (Council-Manager), Hon. Williams Lawanson (Former Sole Administrator, Somolu Local Government), Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe (Immediate Past Chairman, Somolu Local Government), Hon. Yomi Osunkoya led Somolu Legislative Council, Mr. Ademola Ogunade (Chief Security Officer).
