LAGOS EAST BYE-ELECTION: Tokunbo Abiru received by mammoth crowd in Somolu

…vow to prioritize empower women and youth
Ahead of the forthcoming October 31, 2020 Senatorial Bye-Elections, Somolu local Government and Bariga Local Council officially hosted the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) – Mr Adetokunbo Abiru at a Stakeholders’ Meeting which was held on Tuesday September, 21st 2020 at Sabina Event Center on Morocco Road in Somolu.

The Meeting which recorded thousands APC supporters from Lagos East, the energy and zeal displayed by the party members shows how much prepared they are for the election.

APC leaders across Lagos East from Ibeju-Lekki, Epe, Ikorodu, Kosofe and Somolu, Apex Leaders, House of Representatives Members (fomer and current), House of Assmbly members, Council Chairmen (former and current), Party Leaders, LOC Members, CDCs, CDAs, Artisans, Youth, Women, LGA excos, Ward Chairmen ward excos and All Progressive Congress (APC) Party Members in Somolu and Bariga Local Council heartily welcomed the party standard bearer, Mr Tokunbo Abiru.

An APC leader in Somolu, Chief Oyewusi, speaking on behalf of Senator Anthony Adefuye (GAC member) and other party leaders welcomed the incoming Senator Tokunbo Abiru, he also congratulated him as well as other contestants and assured him that every members of the party are ready to work for his success at the October 31st poll.

The Chairman of the Lagos East Campaign Committee, Ashipa Kaoli Olusanya in his remark said he was in Somolu to perform two assignments, the first was to introduce the candidate, Mr Tokunbo Abiru, and he indeed introduced him to the cheering of the party faithfuls, saying he was a former banker, administrator, and he was from a noble home. He urged the party leadership and members in Somolu and Bariga to mobilize people to come out enmasse to vote for APC.

Moreover, the APC standard bearer, Mr Adetokunbo Abiru, acknowledging the party leaders and members present at he meeting, and promising them he won’t take the opportunity he was given to represent them at the red chambers for granted.

“I appreciatd everyone for standing by me since September 3rd, the day every member of the party made me the candidate of the party, I wont take the affirmation for granted”. Continuing, he says he will prioritize youth and women empowement, as a former banker, he will create avenue for women to be empowered and job creation for youth. He admitted to knowing how hard it is for people to survive now as the economy is really biting hard on people, so he promised to do all he can to empower the people of Lagos East among other things. All these, he said can only materialize if we all mobilize for people of Somolu and Bariga to come out and vote fo APC on the 31st of October.

One after the other, Hon. Ademorin Kuye (MHR, Somolu Federal Costituency), Hon. Rotimi Olowo (LAHA, Somolu 1), Hon. Rotimi Abiru (LAHA, Somolu 2), Hon. Kolade Alabi (Chairman, Bariga LCDA) and Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu (Chairman, Somolu LG) all spoke to the people of Somolu and Bariga there present on the consecus choice of Tokunbo Abiru as the Senatorial candidate and the need to come out in large numbers to vote APC on the October 31 bye-election.

Segun Olulade, Bldr Sesan Daini, Mayor Dele Osinowo, Mayoress Samiat Bada, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba , Prince Babatunde Adesida, Hon Jokotade Pelumi, HonTope Okanlawon, and other councillors , Hon Bukola Adedeji (SLG Bariga), Ogbeni Taiwo Adesanya ( SLG Somolu) with Somolu LG & Bariga LCDA Supervisors & Councilors, Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe, Hon. Williams Lawanson, Hon. Sanya Oshijo, Hon Bowale Sosimi (Vice Chairman of Somolu LG), Alhaja Adenike Mustafa, Alhaji Bashir Adekoya, Hon Yinka Osinubi, Princess Sumbo Ajose, Elder Olwolagba, Hon Oluwole, Hon Folami, Hon M.
