On a community tour to both previous and prospective site of the Somolu General Hospital, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led council and political chiefs to make a drastic movement in approaching the project for Lagos State Government.
The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu (Dullar) was in the midst of Otunba Lai Giwa (Council-Manager), Hon. Yomi Osunkoya (Leader of the Council), Ogbeni Taiwo Adesanya (Secretary to the Local Government), Dr Chris Akinwale and Mr Gbadebo (representing the management of Somolu General Hospital) to fast-track the reconstruction proceedings for the state government under the leadership of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, to help lay a swift and solid foundation of an equipped modern general hospital.
It was a well-tended tour in the community a few days ago, as Hon. Jide Giwa (Deputy Leader of the Council), Hon. Lateef Muibi (Majority Leader) was seen in company of the Council Mayor to assess the proposed site for the aforementioned, as part of their main duties as the legislative body of the council.
In a lengthy discussion with some of the top Medical Team of Somolu General Hospital, the Council Mayor said the construction of a new and bigger General Hospital in Somolu is germane as healthcare services should be more accessible and affordable to the people of Somolu.
Also with the Chairman on the inspection tour of his community project to Obiwunmi Street in Fola Agoro area of Somolu, as been garnished with Interlocked stones, Hon. Afolabi Ayodele (Chief Of Staff), Hon. Mariam Salawu (Chairperson), Hon. Abdul-Kabir Raji (Supervisor for Works & Infrastructure), Hon. Olumide Akinola (Supervisor for Health), Hon. Adewale Oseni (Supervisor for Agric & Social Services), Hon. Mike Oikeh (former Education Secretary, Somolu LGEA), Engr. Dawodu Gbolamiga (Council Engineer), Information officers led by Mr Oyeleke Odunfa (Head of Information Unit) made a worthy representation.
Recall that Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu had pacified the people of Somolu that Lagos State Government is planning to build a bigger General Hospital at the Apata-Canal permanent site of the medical edifice, to replace the demolished old building which was converted from an old Oguntolu Healthcare Center bearly two decades ago.
