• Extends gratitude to the people of Somolu for their unrelenting support
The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu a.k.a Dullar, once again reinstated his commitment to community welfare through the distribution of Monthly Welfare Packages to our time-honoured Senior Citizens.
This edition of the well-appreciated senior citizen’s welfare programme is one of the constant programmes of his administration was lined up to commemorate his three years anniversary in office.
The distribution of over 1500 neatly packaged and sealed food packages were delivered to the places of abodes of the aged citizens, within 60years and above respectively.
Bashua, Fadeyi, Onipanu, Ijebutedo/Palmgroove, Alade/Orile Somolu, Okesuna, Bajulaye/Fola Agoro, Akoka are amongst the areas that got delivery of the food packages, which contained Beans, Garri and Rice on Saturday, 25th, 2020.
In his appreciation message to the citizens of Somolu, the Council Chairman who was in the company of Pastor Femi Taiwo Adebiyi (Somolu APC Chairman), Chief Dapo Abiodun (Somolu CDC Chairman), Hon. Abiola Fashola (Somolu APC Women Leader), Hon. Yomi Osunkoya (Leader of the Legislative Arm), reeled out the various forms of achievements of his administration within the past three years.
Furthermore, he extended his appreciation to the good people of Somolu for their esteemed support and constant prayers.
He made a promise that his administration would not deviate from the proposed mission as well as the vision intended for Somolu community, as this remained its paramount objective in ensuring a better living for its entire inhabitants.
In strict adherence to the Covid-19 pandemic injunctions, Hon. Mariam Salawu (Chairperson), Hon. Ayodele Afolabi (Chief of Staff), Hon. Adewale Oseni (Supervisory Councillor for Agric & Social Services), Prince Adeeso a.k.a Obama (DG, Dullar Continua Initiative), Alhaji Tajudeen Tella and other Council Chiefs observed the unruffled distribution right from the Council Secretariat to the designated political zones.
