The leadership tussle ravaging the Somolu Chapter of National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) was laid to reasonable rest earlier yesterday with the intervention of the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu.
Meeting with the aggrieved youths, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu said NYCN is a strict affair of the youths and he will always stand to protect, guide and mentor the youths in that regards as the youths are an essential force of politics, government and community. As requested by the aggrieved youths, the presence of law enforcement agencies was conspicuous.
With the Executive Chairman at the peace meeting, including Hon. Dele Afolabi (Chief of Staff), Hon. Adewale Oseni (Supervisor for Agric. & Community Services) and Mr Segun Arogundade (HOD, Agric. & Community Services) whose department is also in-charge of youths and religious matters. The Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Oseni Owolabi _Ajimomuya was also at the meeting.

Among the youths at the meeting include Comrades Martins Abiodun Abdul-Rafiu, Are AbdulFatai Ajibola, Kausara Olaleye, Kola Muhammed A’Kabir, Aloku Raphael Mayowa, Bolanle Mercy Olukoya and Aremu Michael Awotunbo who represented different youth associations in Somolu but were aggrieved as their names were exempted from the executive list inaugurated a few days ago.
Leading from his explanation, Comrade Martins appreciated the leadership intervention of the Mayor and he said the aggrieved youths were not angry because their names were exempted but because of the new names of youths, they were not familiar with.
After hearing from the aggrieved youths, the Mayor said youths should approach the government with a unified voice to bring new creative ideas to help the government to the benefit of the community.
Moreover, Comrade Fasasi Olalekan led team came at the end of the meeting due to a state scheduled meeting but the Executive Chairman had rescheduled the meeting with the two parties involved.
However, the Mayor sought the APC hierarchy in Somolu by a soothing surprise when a presented a Toyota Camry to the Welfare Officer of APC in Somolu. Party chieftains and followers were at the joyous presentation, including Pastor Femi Taiwo (Somolu APC Chairman).
