The Executive Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. Mayor Dele Oshinowo has sent greetings to workers on the occasion of this year’s May Day Celebration.
In his statement, he penned a solidarity greeting to the builders of our LCDA describing them as the vehicles that drive the nation’s growth and development.
“On the occasion of this year’s May Day Celebration, I extend my wishes and greetings to all workers in our beloved local council and all over the world. This day is unique for the drivers of our economy, as it provides an opportunity to commend them for their patriotic zeal and immense contributions to the development of our communities and humanity in general”.
“However, the year 2020 celebration reflects an unfortunate episode for solidarity rallies and chants as the phrase ‘Social and Physical Distancing’ has enveloped the usual buzz this moment is known for, with the lockdown to contain the hydra-headed monster, coronavirus, putting a stop to rolling out the drums”.
“Having a firm belief that the world will triumph in no distant time, it is pivotal for me to shower encomium on our healthcare workers who are in the theatre of operations. They deserve our prayers, support and best wishes during these trying times”.
He stated further that their efforts will forever remain indelible in the history of mankind as they have written their names in gold as the heroes and heroines of this crucial moment.
In his conclusion, he reassured the workers in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA irrespective of their status (Private or Public), that he will continue to put their welfare and interest first in his administration’s doings.
