The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Bayo Osinowo has congratulated Muslim faithful as the Ramadan fasting is set to commence.
“Ramadan is a period of spiritual reawakening. A period of spiritual rebirth. On these, I congratulate all Muslims for witnessing yet another Ramadan”.
However, he admonished Muslim brothers and sisters as they revel in the euphoria of the commencement of another Ramadan to seize the opportunity of this spiritual rebirth to pray for the country and the world at large to overcome the Coronavirus pandemic.
“The government at all levels are doing everything at their disposal to contain and curtail the spread of the virus, the Ramadan period has provided us with the opportunity to increase supplication to Almighty Allah to assist us in this fight”.
“We should not relent in washing and sanitising our hands regularly, continue to maintain the social distance, avoid gatherings of many people as well as maintaining all other health measures put in place by health officials to combat the scourge”.
“Once again I congratulate every Muslim on witnessing the commencement of another Ramadan. May Almighty Allah accept all our supplications, worships and prayers during this period and beyond”.
The 30 days fasting will begin tomorrow Friday 24th April 2020 and ended in May when the moon is being sighted. to signify the end of the Ramadan fasting.
