The Chairman of Bariga Local Council, Hon Kolade Alabi alleviate the plights of the people of his local council by providing relief materials to cushion the effects of the Lockdown period of 14 days.
Hon Alabi said that the gesture is part of the government’s contribution to alleviating the sufferings of the people during their compulsory stay at home, adding that the measure was not to inflict suffering on anybody but to curtail the spread of the virus which is a necessary thing to do. All the major stakeholders like the CDAs, CAN, Muslim communities, Traditional Chiefs, Market men/women, students, and residents benefited from the packages.
He also applauded Governor Babajide Sanwoolu for the measures taken so far in the state to address the current situation, saying that it is already yielding positive results.
The council boss alongside his Vice, Hon Adeola Kuponiyi, presented relief packages that have rice, beans, noodles, and Garri to the residents of Bariga, some of the places he visited personally are Ago Egun, Pedro compound, Omo Alade Alafia, and Igbehinadun Primary school.
Councillors and other officials also distributed packages to the residents of Farayibi, Ikobayo, Ososa, Alhaji Odusanya, Badejo, Ogundola, Onileyan, Ebunoluwa, Olohunkemi., Ademolu, Omobokun, Bolowosere, Opeloyeru, Adetoke, Olohuntoyin, Sogbamu, Gbagada Road, Bawala, some packages as well as cash were also distributed by the chairman in Igbehinadun primary school.
Others are Oshinfolarin, Ajileye, Idowu, Obadiah, Laula, Akinola, Akinranmola, Wemimo, Olusoji, Oluwatoyin, Oduse, Adeniji, Banjo, Akinpelu, Onabola, Ijagbemi, Kusa, Ebunolohun, Onajimi, Igi-Olugbin, Araromi, Ajenifuja, Bamiji Lawal, Igbehinadun, Idumota Church and other streets across the council.
Recall that the Bariga environmental team has been decontaminating/disinfecting government, public facilities such as PHCs, schools, banks, markets, bus stops, pedestrian bridges, eateries as well as streets to curb the spreading of the novel Coronavirus pandemics ravaging the world.
In the past week, Alabi toured the council to check the level of compliance of Bariga people, and amongst other things provided hand sanitisers to the residents free of charge and encouraged the good people of Bariga at large to heed the expert advise of regular washing of hands with soap, social distancing and the use of hand sanitizers to avoid contracting the virus.
The newly commissioned CMS primary health centre was part of the place visited by the council boss, as the PHC recorded the birth of two babies on Tuesday, March 31st, 2020.
The chairman of Bariga, Hon Kolade Alabi was on hand to receive the babies, and he was happy that babies and mothers were in good health condition.
The elated council boss also presented gifts to the children.
The relief packages were aimed to reach at least 7000 households in Bariga as a form of succour for the residents and the exercise will continue tomorrow in some areas across the council…
