Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. Abdul Hameed Salawudeen Dullar has taken the monthly elderly welfare initiative to another dimension as he fetes the elderly by taking the packages to their door steps amidst Lagos COVID-19 lockdown order by President Muhammadu Buhari led government.
The dissemination of the welfare packages which was served on Tuesday 31st March, 2020 contain Rice, Beans and Yam commenced simultaneously across all the eighth (8) political wards in Somolu which coincidentally will be serving a noble cause
According to a reliable source from the office of the chairman, the monthly elderly welfare packages is a palliative essentially put together to cater for the elderly in Somolu which no doubt will go a long way in supporting them especially at this critical moment.
Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of the largesse while obtaining the packages at their respective homes poured encomium on the chairman for deeming it feat to surprise them with the packages despite the order to stay at home.
They however, did not hesitate to shower him with rain of blessing as he bid for second term in office come next year 2021
The initiative which commenced last year is particularly living up to its billing as it has now become a phenomenon to be reckoned with.
