Sets to capture offline populace.
In an attempt to consolidate on and intensify effort already made to sensitize residents of Olorunda Local Council Development Area on the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the LCDA under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (SAMOLA) is set to capture the nooks and crannies of the LCDA through the use of a public address system.
It is no longer news that the Federal Government and the Sanwoolu-led Lagos State Government have been sponsoring massive on-air and online campaigns in recent weeks, and as you may recall, Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde hosted a stakeholders sensitisation forum to bring the people up-to-date on the pandemic on Friday 6th March 2020.
In light of the recent surge in the number of cases recorded globally and a somewhat steady daily increase in the number of cases recorded nationwide, the Council boss has issued a directive that will see the Council Health Educator, Miss Ojo Temitope lead a ward-to-ward sensitisation drive. During the drive, Public address system will be used to ensure that communication is clearer. The logic is to ensure that the drive reaches a wider audience, especially people who have little-to-zero access to the internet, radio and or television sets and is scheduled to commence today, Wednesday 25th March 2020.
Voicing the intentions of the Council Boss regarding the drive, the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Aina Dauda commended the effort of the Federal and State governments respectively. He, however, raised the importance of consolidation by the government at the grassroots as only then can one be sure that the message is at the door of the everyday Nigerian.
“The Chairman identified the logic and importance of getting the message to the doorstep of the people without flouting any of the laid down rules or precautions and has since had a briefing with the health department on what to do and how to go about it.
“The Federal and State governments have played their roles, it is important we play ours for there to be true penetration.”
