The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu is winning in all aspects of life and boxing is included this time around as he just won two boxing belts as a start of his Year 2020 wins.
The Mayor won the boxing title honourably from the Somolu born international boxer, Riliwan ‘King’ Lawal who just won the best boxer of Nigeria National Boxing and West Africa Boxing Union Titles.
Rilwan King who defeated the former champion of the title, Prince Nurudeen Fatai, at the LASGIDI FIGHT NIGHT 4. The promoter of the fight, Saleh Fawas, revealed that the Somolu born Riliwan King is a great boxer with loads of determination and concentration when in a boxing ring.
The Abiodun street, Somolu born Riliwan King Lawal presented the two boxing titles to the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, in appreciation of his supports and love for sports development in Somolu.
In his response to the boxing title, the Mayor of Somolu could not hide his joy for another win belonging to Somolu. He said the administration of Somolu Local Government won’t relent in supporting young sports personalities to make them great to do Somolu, Lagos State and Nigeria proud in their chosen sport.
Recall that Taiwo Adeyinka, Bosede Ogunsanya and Olajide Omotayo are Somolu born ping-pong maestros who are doing great in the table tennis world as all African players look up to them as conversant and determined players.
