Semilore Owolabi Bada and her Fikayo Owolabi Bada are gunning for the top spot at the ongoing Asoju Oba table tennis championship which served off on Monday 25th November 2019 at the indoor sports hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The duo of Oluwasemilore and Oluwafikayomi Owolabi Bada made to the final of Somolu Newspaper Under-16 Table Tennis Championship as they both lived up to their billing claiming the silver and bronze at championship respectively.
While Fikayo won silver for herself, Semilore added a bronze medal to her archive
The Bada sisters have however promised to work their way into the final of the females singles of the championship having trained so hard to ensure the dream of winning medals at the championship comes to fruition.
An ever bubbling Fikayo admitted that there’s no success without its challenges. “I feel am going to make it to the final because I’m fully prepared for the game having just competed and won silver for my effort at the just concluded Somolu Newspaper Under-16 table tennis championship”. said Fikayo.
Meanwhile, her elder sister, Olusemilore also reiterated her commitment towards achieving her target goal of winning a medal like her sister.
“Every game deserves great concentration and determination and that I will adhere to strictly for me to attain my goal as a champion”. she stated.
Semilore and Fikayo won bronze medals in Cadet Girls Doubles in the last edition. The feat they’re willing to surpass this year as a way of proving their critics wrong and stamped their feet skin the sand of time.
The annual Asoju Oba table tennis championship will come to an end with grand finally billed for Friday with fanfare and glamour which oftentimes is seen as a way drawing curtain on the game.
