The duo of Aanuoluwa Opeyori and have Godwin Olofua made yet another beautiful impression as they defeated their African counterpart 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) in the Men’s Doubles from West Africa subregion, Ghana Michael Baah and Daniel Sam to book the semifinals ticket at the ongoing 5th edition of Lagos International Badminton Classics at the Molade Okoya Thomas Indoor sports hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos

The epoch-making sporting event which kicked off on 24th July 2019 paraded 29 countries who are in the country to wrestle one another for supremacy.

Speaking with our correspondent shortly after the victory, Opeyori described the triumph over their opponent as a result of resilience and doggedness put into the game.

He adds “In the Men’s Singles, It wasn’t what I expected to have lost most of the matches but I have outlived that and move forward. I have to learn from it and make an amendment where and when necessary”.

“It happens, that’s what it’s called a game, sometimes, you win and sometimes you lose. It goes up and down”.

“But in the Men’s Doubles, we have tried our possible best and our best have pushed us into semis and talking about our opponents, the guys did their best to show that they are also a good team to play with but have to let them know that we’re better than them.

Meanwhile, Anuoluwapo and Godwin (NGR) will meet their opponents, Jones Rally Jansen and Peter Kaesbauer (GER) for the next game to determine who get the ticket for the finals of the tournament to be played tomorrow Saturday 27th August 2019.
