2022.

“Take it or leave it, Baba Ikenne was a complete gentleman and political leader of high repute who’s always on top of the game. A humble and brotherly figure who put party interest first in his dealing when it comes to politics. Don’t forget that Baba Ikenne was a peacemaker who’ll never be found wanting”.

In the same vein, the House of Assembly member representing Somolu constituency I at the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon. Olowo Rotimi Emmanuel in his tribute said Baba Ikenne’s death was a rude shock to him and the members of his political family.

“It’s a known fact that Baba Ikenne was a loyal and humble political personality that I respect so much while he was alive. He was a goal-getter and will never deviate from the set target. He was a community leader with sterling leadership quality that earned him so much respect across the entire Somolu community and beyond”. he said.

In his condolence message, the former Executive Secretary of Somolu local government, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya commiserated with the family of the late political icon and community leader.

Orekoya described the deceased as an associate who was committed to the development of not only his constituency but Lagos as a whole.

“A loyal party man and stabilizer factor in Somolu politics, his contributions to Action Congress and later All Progressive Congress were invaluable. Baba Ikenne was a devoted Christian, whose contribution to Christendom cannot be underestimated. We’ll surely miss him”.

“I commiserate with the family, his constituency, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, and the people of the Somolu community”.

He prayed to God to comfort the bereaved family and give them the strength to bear the irreparable loss while he also prayed to God to forgive Olusegun’s shortcomings and reward his good deeds.
